A bollywood movie like 'Chakravyuh' keep interest in watching, not only due to the fact that it discusses a social and political issue, in addition to this, it is being directed by Prakash Jha, the creator of maximum number of political movies like 'Gangajal', 'Apaharan', 'Raajneeti', 'Aarakshan' etc. The movie produced by Eros International and Prakash Jha Productions, tells the story of Naxalite movement that exists in the rural villages of North India.
Adil Khan (Arjun Rampal) and Kabeer (Abhay Deol) are close friends, that got admission for IPS training. Kabeer is forced to leave the camp in the middle, as he had to face disciplinary action for misconduct. In the current period, Adil is a police officer with good track records. He joins as the new SP of Nandighat, the place that is worsely affected by Naxalite attacks. At this time, Kabeer re-enters. He suggests a plan to Adil, so Chakravyuhthat they can resolve the Naxalite issue in the valley.
The friendship theme might not be a fresh one, but the issues that are discussed here felt realistic. The relevance of the subject is clearly known as we know, even in this 21st century, our country is not free from the Naxalism issues. The director had tried to create an impact to a certain extend by this movie. The arrival of corporate companies and the negative impact on the tribal communities is the best example. The action scenes done by Abbas Ali Moghul are good, the gun and bomb shots need special comments. The roles are suited well for Arjun Rampal and Abhay Deol, they did their level best. This one is a role to remember for Arjun Rampal. New comer Anjali Patel has given a real show. Manoj Bajpayee, Ompuri and Kabir Bedi gave good company. Esha Gupta as police officer is a misfit. Sameera Reddy's item number is not needed and it should have been better.

Cinematography by Sachin Kishn is good, the thick forests and the rural village of MP are shown well through his frames. Songs are not memorable, most of them comes as a background addition. Bg score goes with the mood. Once again, Prakash Jha creates attention by discussing a socially relevant subject.
"Chakravyuh is a watchable one for hard core followers of political relevant subjects, especially Prakash Jha creations."
