It is the time for yet another cop story in Bollywood, within a month's gap. After Amir's 'Talaash' and Akshay's 'Khiladi 786', next chance is for Salman to wear Kaakhi. The sequel of 'Dabangg' got released and Chulbul Pandey, the Robinhood cop is once again there to entertain.
The new story happens in Kanpur, as the police inspector hero is transferred to that place. Before that, there are few changes in the cast and technicians list. Salman's brother Arbaaz Khan is the new director in place of Abhinav Kashyap. The new villain is Prakash Raj. The real star of the previous version was none other than its action director Fefsi Vijayan and now, another Southie, Anal Arasu gets the chance to blast after his notable fight scenes in 'Rowdy Rathore'. The movie is produced by Arbaaz's wife Malaika Arora, who did a guest appeanrance in the song; another item dancer in the movie is none other than Kareena Kapoor.
In the new place, Chulbul Pandey (Salman Khan) has to come across the local don cum politician Bachha Bhai (Prakash Raj). The latter has got two brothers, who always assist him in his criminal activities. On a crucial kidnapping incident, one of them gets killed by the hands of the police officer and Bachha is adamant in taking revenge.
There is nothing special in the story line. It is all the same as every action movies do. In between, you have got some family oriented situations, where the hero's wife, father and brother participates. After doing an action scene, hero will be seen in a song, followed by some drama, then a couple of item dances, then romance... like that the episode goes, without boring. In the end, hero takes the revenge and becomes the winner.
It is all in all Salman Khan's movie. He did the role in a stylized manner, with a mix of humour and action. He is energetic in dances as well as stunt scenes. Sonakshi Sinha gave a good support. Prakash Raj is in his usual style, but the dubbing is not in the right pace, a more suitable and powerful voice artist should have been used here. The action director is once again the star like the first part. The fight sequences in the introduction scene and the climax area choreographed by Anal Arasu were really electrifying. Bg score by Sandeep Shirodkar goes with the mood. Songs by Sajid Wajid had got a mix of peppy and item numbers, which adds tempo to the story. They are also colorfully visualized. Cinematographers Aseem Mishra and Mahesh Limaye did a fair job.
" Dabangg 2 is a mass masala action entertainer and it is a feast for Salman fans."
