Jack Reacher || Review

The new Bollywood release, that too by 'MI' fame Tom Cruise, 'Jack Reacher' has reached theaters, with a short notice. I came to know about this movie last week only, when I happened to see its trailer, in between some other show. The movie is based on the famous novel 'One Shot' by Lee Child. 

The movie starts with the murders of five people, in a public place. The killer shooting from a far distance using the telescopic gun. The police is successful in catching the culprit with in a day. At this time Jack Reacher (Tom Cruise), a former Military officer, reached there to help the defense lawyer. He thinks that the person in the custody, who is an expert shooter, can't kill all those people, in such a manner. Through investigation, a different version for the case has been found by him.

The director had presented the story in a cool manner, with the help of some excellent cinematographic visuals. Some of the camera angles, especially the visuals from the top and some other shots from the ground, needs special mention. In the middle, you have got a street fight, a thrilling chase through the heavy traffic (as we usually see in such action flicks), followed by an action packed climax. Unlike from the usual, you can see a soft Tom Cruise here. He did a fair job.

I watched the movie in the middle of small attendance. May be it has happened, due to the lack of proper promotional works for this project. Due to low collection, the theater had provided only a single show in a day. The people always love to watch action movies like 'MI' series, that comes from the same actor, one the other side, they are not interested in slow paced and good investigation subjects like 'Jack Reacher'.
